Full text of PM speech at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies on September 24th, 2018.

Bilsmillahirahmanirahim in the Name Of Allah the Merciful and the Compassionate.

Assalamualaikum and very good afternoon everyone. Mr. Nizam, Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen. I feel deeply honoured that I had been asked to speak once again at Oxford University. I have chosen the subject called Government and Governance in the Islamic World. The first thing that you would note about the system of governnce in Islamic World is that it had hardly changed. At the time when the rest of the world were modifying their system of government. The Islamic World remained attached to the system the monarchy system which supports an authoritarian system. Nobody could think of any revision in that system. The ruler is supreme and obedience to him is a must. The ruler has absolute power. And this is accepted by the people in muslim countries that the ruler should have absolute power. Of course as you say absolute power corrupts and corrupts absolutely. Invariably this happens in most of islamic states. It doesn’t mean that they don’t provide good governance all the time. They have been rulers in Islamic state who have done a great deal for their country who have led their country to prominence until at one time of course the muslim appeared to be the most successful people in term of governance of their countries. They were strong they were able to conquer their neighbours. They were able to provide for the development of their countries. In fact they were so impressive they are letting a lot European countries felt they need to copy from the muslim governance system. And so therefore some time around 15th century Europeans began to study Islamic way of governance and development. They even studied arabic in order to gain access to the great libraries in Cordoba in Baghdad because they want to know how was it that the muslim so abled to build the great civilisation. The standard in those days was the muslim standard. Everybody felt that if they copy the muslim system they would progress. Indeeed they did around 15th century they gained access to the libraries of the muslim intellectual and they learned alot from the Muslim.

But unfortunately at about the same time the muslim decided that their system was wrong. They decided they were not Islamic enough. They thought anything that is not about Islam is not desirable. The study of other subjects will not gain merit for the after life. And so they cease to study all those subjects at which they excelled in the past. Of course we know of name like Ibn Sina, Ibnu Rusyd and the others who find many of the knowledge that gave muslim civilization the edge over other civilizations.

However, through out all these the whim and fancies of the ruler prevails. If they have good ruler then they succeed and they become very modern in that sense during their time. But the ruler upon gaining absolute power invariably abuse the power that they have and so we find that some of the intellectuals were the victims of jealousy on the part of the ruler. And of course they did not get the benefit of intellectuals in the governnce of their countries.

These prevail until today and now muslims have to admit that they are not leading the world anymore. They have been left behind and they have been left behind because they have discarded the learning that they find before. This has been taken over by the European and they find that they were left behind they continue to be left left behind. Eventually of course the great Muslim civilisation fragmented and almost all their lands and teritories were conquered by western countries. They no longer have anything to buy and to rule. This does not mean they are incapable they are very capable people but their opportunity to learn anything else other than religion had denied them. As a result they began to regret.

This is one of the things that happen when will give absolute power to anyone at all. They tend to be jealous of others and they tend to downgrade anybody else who may appear to be better than them. Throughout history of the Muslim word we see these things happening eventually they had to come around to prepare to accept the fact that they are no longer the great Islamic Civilisation that they used to be. They see all around them countries which had prospered greatly. These countries prospered because initially these countries learn from the muslim civilisation and they made progress from there on. After the muslim countries were conquered they felt that they were no longer able to compete with the West and they developed inferiority complex and they feel that they could do nothing right. The regression goes on and on until many of them migrated to

to live in other countries and and they find that other countries are doing better then their own countries. They find that giving power to one person is not right . They need to adopt the system that was developed in the West. Eventually of course they felt they too should become democratic.

But democracy is not the easiest way to manage. It is very complex it needs self restrain on the part of many people including of the people who have been given the right to choose their government but this is something that muslim generally does not understand how could the ruler be chosen by the people. The ruler should be because of his right because he comes from certain family even if the ruler is overthrown by some leaders in their community. The new leader inevitably adopt the title of ruler. They all became sultan and they all propagated same sytem of government in which the ruler does everything for the country for the people. Indeed all revenues go to the ruler. It is up to his generousity to distribute wealth to the country in order to grow or to administer the country .That is still stand today. Revenue of country belong to the ruler and it is up to him to be generous to pay for the administration and development of the country. And as I said just now invariably they become corrupt . So the answer to that is to change system of government and they found that system must be the democratic system and they were urge to overthrow their rulers and setup a democratic government.

We know they tried to do this now known as the Arab Spring but as you know democracy in the west did not become the system overnight. It took the West almost 200 years to develop the system of democracy. It required a certain frame of mind to accept having a ruler who is chosen by the people. The progress was slow. Initially only land owners were allowed to participate in voting for the government subsequently other groups were also allowed working people were allowed like to go to other government women took a long time get the right to vote for the government.

So you can see that the democratic system did not come to the West overnight. It took many many years before the frame of mind was such that they accept the result of simple things like a tick on a piece of paper called the vote to determine who will rule the country.

The other thing about the muslim world is that they believe in consensus that any decision must be agreed to by everyone. Until it is agreed to by everyone a decision cannot be made. It is almost impossible to have everyone agreed to anything invariably there will be wdifferences in their views and opinions as in order to achieve consensus they have to water down whatever decision to make until it becomes quite meaningless. So it is very difficult for Muslim countries to change on their own. They may have noticed the dictatorial ways of the absolute rulers but they could not think of changing the system because to do so need to have consensus. It took them a very very long time before some members of their community having been exposed to system of the government in the Western countries. For them to decide they took long time until they were forced by outside power to change. This was the regime change that they have to undertake.

It is now called the Arab Spring. Why it is called the Arab Spring is something that until now I cannot understand but the fact is that the the world caused is changing the system of government in the Muslim countries and this is something that is good . But they forget that it is not just the system that has to be changed it is also the mind set the value system of the people must change which has changed. From having hereditary king to having leader voted by the people is a big change which is not easy to adopt by whole country . So what we see is that they did carryout out revolution of sort to overthrow out the dictatorial leaders for all these they were all united . They thought that if the ruler is disposed then they will become the ruler. Always the thinking is still change a ruler for another ruler. They did not realised that the reason the why ruler was disposed was because there were many factions in their society wanted the leader to be dispose so for that reason they remain united. They have one objective to overthrow the ruler and they felt once the leader is overthrown then they will become democratic. But there are many factions which participated in the overthrow of the rulers and each faction believe with the ruler they will take over his place as soon as the ruler is overthrown they realise that the are many aspirants all wanted to pickup the ruler.

When they conducted election they found that through election one of them not all of them but one of them may achieve the desired number of votes in order to be the government.

But the loser do not want to accept this. They felt that something must be wrong if they themselves did not win. So a new government is formed with probably the people giving majority to one party the other party refuses to accept the result they would struggle to bring that government down In many instances of course they resort to violence and the new government elected by majoriy of people were pulled down and they’re either have to have another election or else somebody might elect to power . if there is a strong military force in society the military will take advantage of situation and form a kind of military government which of course is not democracy. Otherwise they might have an election they may be a new party would win but the new party will be subjected to the same forces which brought down the previous party. So sometimes you see something like musical chair with different parties becoming the government and being change without being able to rule the country.

This is because on the one hand the intellectuals may understand the workings of democracy but the vast majority of people do not understand that in the democracy you have to respect the vote. You have to respect the choice made by the people feel that if they are not being chosen there must be some mistake somewhere. So you find government being changed and change again some time through democratic processes at other time through seizure of power by some strong man or by military. You see this happening in many of the new democracies in the Muslim world.

If they are going to suceed I think it is necessary to give them more time to develop the mind set that understand that you can honour the vote of the people and accept there will be a ruler who is chosen by the people by the simple process of voting.

This is something that is not really understood in the Muslim world which I said just now is much more familiar much more comfortable with hereditary ruler. We find that even though there may be change of government invariably would try to assume the position of a hereditary ruler. They cannot imagine that after they finished their term either somebody else might take over from them. So you find in some dictatorship resulting from the overthrow of monarchy. Also setting a new monarchy with same system of hereditary ruler.

The expectation is that once a person win with his family have right to govern the country through his family forever. So this is the process that can only be avoided over time by learning and understanding the democratic system .

I am saying this about muslim countries. Malaysia is a muslim country not 100% muslim. 40% of our people are non muslim and 60% are muslim . But upon independence we decided that this system we would adopt would be democratic system.

This was not so easy because we have 9 rulers 9 hereditary rulers. Most of the muslim in the country are very loyal to this ruler. How do we deal with them? We thought we should adopt the British system of constitutional monarch. But then there are 9 monarchs so we decided to have a change of the ruler every five years but confined to the hereditary rulers of 9 states. Somehow it has worked because the people in the country seem to find that they still have their rulers but they can still have their democratic system.

It is not been easy there are problems like race differences and religion but Malaysian are probably the most timid people. They don’t like violent they are prepared to endure hardship with that government until it changes by itself. They are not going to make any effort to overthrow the government. No violence no assinnation and the like and so in Malaysia it seems to have work. But Malaysia is not 100% muslim. I do not know whether Malaysia as 100% muslim country would be able to fuction as democracy or not. We need to test that.

Perhaps by depriving the non muslim of the right to vote but of course we are not going to do that. But in other muslim countries we see the transition has brought about changes which are disastrous for those countries I think there is a need of them to spend more time understanding for the people themselves to understand the democratic system if you don’t understand that in a democracy the vote is powerful then of course you cannot have a democratic system. This is the problem faced by many Muslim countries because there is still much more comfortable with monarchy with authoritarian system even if there is seizure of power by a non royal still the new ruler would assume the title of king or sultan whatever and rule the country thru their authoritarian monarchal system so this is a problem that cannot be overcome overnight he’s going take long time unfortunately because they don’t understand the system they are facing terrible disasters today and every time they tried for democratic system they will be fighting among them and the countries can be almost totally destroyed. For me as a Muslim I feel shame that muslim countries are not so well governed to the extent that Muslims run away from Muslim countries to live in non muslim countries. That is what is happening today they find that non Muslim countries provide better protection and security for them but their own muslim countries are unstable one and oppressive. So Muslim need to understand that power given to the ruler is not for him to use for his own self but actually for the country and the people. This is something that many of the absolute rulers do not understand. I say this with repetition because even in my own country we cannot say anything against the ruler and of course you have such powerful rulers as it would be some abuses of power. We have in Malaysia we have to suffer in silence and some how or rather more likely is this a difficult task for us in Malaysia it is even more difficult for the 100% muslim countries because their people do not understand the democratic system. A system in which the people choose their government and support the government in their period of time . They cannot wait until term is over they need to change immediately after an election try to overthrow the winners. They cannot wait until 5 years or 4 years before the next general election is held . This is what we have seen today in many Muslim countries and I think it is going to take time for them to understand

the working of democracy, time for them to learn to respect the vote and set up government which uses power in order for betterment of country and people. I thank you.

Pendirian Kerajaan Berkaitan Hukuman Sebat

Kabinet kerajaan Pakatan Harapan hari ini telah membincangkan kes yang mana dua wanita telah di sebat kerana melakukan hubungan yang luar biasa.

Pihak kami berpendapat bahawa ini tidak mencerminkan keadilan dan timbangrasa oleh agama Islam.

Sebaliknya kita tahu bahawa ini adalah kes pertama bagi mereka dan biasanya dalam kes pertama kita perlu memberi nasihat dan tidak seterusnya melakukan sebat sehingga diketahui oleh seluruh negara.

Ini memberi gambaran yang buruk kepada agama Islam. Sebab itu kami berpendapat bahawa kalau pun ada kes-kes yang semacam ini pertimbangan hendaklah diberi kepada keadaan tertentu yang mana dalam Islam kita boleh menjatuhkan hukum yang lebih ringan sementara kita memberi nasihat dan sebagainya.

Amatlah penting kita menunjuk bahawa agama Islam ini bukanlah agama yang bengis yang suka menjatuhkan hukum hukum

yang berat yang mengaibkan orang. Ini bukan cara-cara yang digalakkan oleh agama Islam ini adalah pendapat kabinet kerajaan dan kami harap kita berhati-hati dalam mempamerkan Islam sebagai agama yang tidak ada tolak ansur tidak ada bertimbangrasa sedangkan kita selalu apabila bermula sesuatu bermula dengan Bismillahirrahmanirrahim Dengan nama Allah yang maha pemurah lagi maha pengasihani tetapi kita tunjuk seolah-olah dalam Islam ini tidak ada perasaan pemurah sama sekali. Inilah pendapat Kerajaan Pakatan Harapan pada mesyuarat nya pada hari ini.

HADI PERLU BERTAUBAT

2. Sebenarnya yang mesti bertaubat ialah Hadi sendiri.

3. Allah melarang dalam Al Quran umat Islam berpecah-belah dan berpuak-puak. (Ayat 159 Surah Al An’am, Ayat 103 Surah Ali Imran, Ayat 107 Surah Al Anfal, Ayat 32 Surah Ar Rum, Ayat 94 Surah An Nisaa)

4. Hadi mengkafirkan orang Islam di Malaysia. Allah SWT melarang perbuatan mengkafir dan berjanji sesiapa yang mengkafirkan orang Islam, kafir itu akan kembali kepada mereka. Inilah yang terjadi kepada Hadi dan PAS apabila bekerjasama dengan DAP.

5. Kerana Hadi kafirkan pemerintahan Malaysia dalam Amanatnya, maka empat orang anggota polis dibunuh oleh pengikut Ibrahim Libya kerana percaya mereka sedang berjihad dan mati mereka apabila diserang balas oleh polis adalah mati syahid.

6. Apa hak Hadi dan apa hak PAS mengkafirkan orang yang tidak menyertai parti mereka. Di mana dalam Quran atau hadith yang berkata hanya dengan menjadi ahli PAS sahaja barulah seseorang itu beragama Islam. Apakah 1.7 billion orang Islam diseluruh dunia bukan Islam kerana mereka tidak masuk parti PAS.

7. Perpecahan yang berlaku dikalangan orang Melayu Islam di Malaysia amat mendalam. Ada yang menafi keIslaman ibubapa mereka. Ada di antara orang PAS yang menidakkan keIslaman isteri, yang berkahwin sekali lagi.

8. Ada yang sembahyang berasingan, dengan imam lain; yang tidak sanggup dikebumi di kubur biasa kerana kononnya kubur itu kubur orang kafir.

9. Ada yang bangun masjid berasingan sehingga sekarang ini pun.

10. Inilah hasil Amanat Hadi. Ia adalah satu dosa besar. Kerana ini sahaja pun ia perlu bertaubat.

11. Allah tegah perbuatan kerosakkan.

12. (Surah Al Baqarah Ayat 11, Ayat 60, Ayat 205, Surah Al A’raaf Ayat 59, 85, 86)

13. Sesunguhnya Hadi melakukan banyak kerosakan terhadap agama Islam dan orang Islam di Malaysia. Perpecahan yang disebabkan Hadi telah melemahkan orang Islam.

14. Saya sedar ramai pengikut Hadi telah bai’ah kepadanya. Mereka taksub kepadanya sehingga ajaran Al Quran dan hadith yang sahih pun diketepikan. Mereka sudah jadi puak assabiah yang terima sahaja apa yang didakwa oleh Hadi tanpa soal.

15. Sekarang Hadi sedang mempertahankan rasuah dan seleweng wang oleh Najib. Sekaligus Hadi berusaha untuk memberi kemenangan kepada Najib dan UMNO walaupun dimasa yang sama PAS akan kalah.

16. PAS bersendirian tidak pernah menang selain dari peringkat negeri. Diperingkat pusat PAS hanya mampu jadi rakan kecil di antara pembangkang.

17. Tetapi PAS akan terus peralatkan Islam. Tuntutan terhadap hudud PAS sudah digugur. Sekarang kononnya PAS akan bawa usul RUU 355. Berkali-kali usul ini ditangguh. Tetapi PAS masih mengguna usul ini untuk menarik sokongan politik bagi dirinya.

18. Inilah PAS. Sebelum adanya PAS orang Melayu bersatu dan bersaudara sebagai dituntut oleh agama mereka – agama Islam.

19. Perpecahan dan permusuhan sesama orang Islam di Malaysia bermula dengan penubuhan parti PAS. Dianya tidaklah begitu buruk sehingga Hadi keluar Amanatnya.

20. Sesungguhnya Hadi berdosa besar dan Hadi perlu bertaubat dan batalkan Amanatnya.

WHAT ISLAM FORBIDS

1. Islam forbids carvings of statues of men and animals. At one time painted portraits of such were also forbidden. The Turkish Caliphs used to have their portraits painted but they were hidden from the public.

2. But now with the advances in photography it is impossible for Muslims to ban photographic pictures of men and animals. Certain Ulamas declared that still pictures may be exempted but not moving pictures. But now the pictures move and speak. Muslims now just ignore the breaches in the rule against painted or photographed portraits, moving or speaking. Even the religious scholars now have their pictures taken.

3. But many draw a line with regard to carvings and sculpture of men and animals. The early Muslims used to disfigure the faces of some of the statues they found in the lands they expanded into. But for a very long time the statues were not defaced. It is only lately that many of these carvings were destroyed.

4. In Egypt not only are most of the statues of the pharaohs preserved, but new copies of the statues decorate the streets of Cairo. In Malaysia we have the National Monument and the statue of the first Prime Minister of the country.

5. Apparently Muslim thinking about statues are ambivalent.

6. In pre-Islamic times the Jahiliah, the ignorant Arabs, used to worship Uzza and Lat, oddly-shaped rocks as their gods.

7. When Islam came these gods were destroyed and Muslims were forbidden from carving and keeping statues. This is because the early Muslims may worship them as gods.

8. It is the worship of these carvings as gods which is forbidden. The Quran is emphatic that no other god may be worshipped accept Allah. And Allah cannot be carved in the form of statues.

9. Today’s Muslims are more intelligent. That is why they don’t worship portraits or statues. They know these are not gods.

10. When I was small, dolls that look like human beings were frowned upon by some conservative Malays. But as the toy industry grew, dolls could not be banned.

11. But statues of human beings in stones are less easily produced. So the ban is confined to statues of men and animals.

12. The Islamic injunction is against regarding the carved images as gods to be worshipped. Islamic art is confined to geometric designer.

13. The modern Muslims know that these are not gods and they don’t worship them. We no longer hold the ceremony at the Cenotaph (Tugu Peringatan) as that may be construed as a kind of prayer. But we don’t have such ceremonies in front of the statue of the first Prime Minister or the eagle in Langkawi. We are not breaching Islamic injunction.

14. The day some Muslims place joss-sticks and genuflect before the Eagle in Langkawi, that day the offending Muslim should be told that they are not following the injunctions of Islam. They should be told that the eagle is not god to be worshipped.

15. So far no Muslims have ever prayed before or worshipped the Eagle of Langkawi. Destroying it would not make the Malays more Muslim.

IBADAH UMRAH

1. Saya berada di Arab Saudi minggu lepas. Ramai sungguh orang Islam membuat umrah. Keadaan sama seperti membuat ibadah Haji. Berduyun-duyun mereka datang. Diantara mereka terdapat ramai orang Melayu Malaysia.

2. Umrah adalah satu dari ibadah yang sunat bagi orang Islam. Saya faham yang sunat, jika dilakukan memberi pahala kepada diri pengamal. Jika tidak melakukan, kita tidak berdosa.

3. Saya tertanya-tanya jika wang yang dibelanja untuk melakukan ibadah umrah datang dari punca yang haram, umpamanya jika wang itu dicuri, apakah ibadah itu menjadi sah dan memberi pahala?

4. Saya hanya bertanya. Sebabnya kerana saya lihat beratus yang dapat buat umrah yang dibiayai oleh orang tertentu yang punca kewangannya masih menjadi persoalan.

ENG VERSION

UMRAH

1. I was in Saudi Arabia last week. There were really many Muslims performing the Umrah. The situation is the same as during the Hajj period. They come flocking. Among them were many Malaysian Malays.

2. Umrah is a voluntary act of worship (sunat) for Muslims. I understand that being “sunat”, if performed it earns a reward (pahala) to the practitioner. There is no sin (dosa) if not performed.

3. I wonder what if the money spent in performing the umrah comes from illegal sources, for instance if the money was stolen, whether it would be a legitimate worship and earns reward?

4. I am just asking. The reason is because I see hundreds of people who are able to perform the Umrah financed by certain people with still questionable sources of finance.

THE PARIS ATTACK

1. Everyone, certainly every Muslim must condemn the dastardly attack by Muslims in Paris when more than 100 innocent people were killed. It was not one incident but it consisted of a series of coordinated attacks in different parts of Paris. It certainly gave Islam and the Muslims a bad image. It practically justified the claim that Islam is associated with terrorism.

2. Obviously, something has to be done to put an end to such attacks. The French Government is calling for a coalition of countries against the ISIS and against terrorism generally. The whole world seems prepared to join in the fight against ISIS in particular.

3. If we care to study history, we would not fail to note that such acts of terror have been escalating over the years. They are getting more and more terrifying and brutal all the time.

4. Those who feel concerned would notice that these acts of terror are largely confined to the Arab States in the Middle East. They began with the creation of the state of Israel on Palestinian land. The Palestinian Arabs were massacred and expelled from their country by Irgun and Haganah terrorist groups of the Israelis. They lost their land, their homes and their fruit orchards. They had to live in shabby refugee camps in other countries in the region. For well over 60 years they suffer the deprivations of displaced people. At first a few Arab countries tried to regain Palestine through conventional wars. From 1948 to 1982 they attacked Israel. But every time they were defeated as Israel was supplied with arms and money and even soldiers by America and the European countries.

5. The Arab countries accepted the fact that they could never win a war against Israel. So they ceased trying after 1982.

6. In 1987 Yasser Arafat set up the PLO Al Fatah group and started the first intifada. At first it consisted of Palestinian children throwing stones at Israeli tanks. The Israelis countered by shooting at the children, with rubber coated and live bullets killing many, arresting and jailing some of the others. Far from stopping the Israelis, they actually expanded their territories by building settlements on Palestinian land. This setting up of settlements in other people’s land is totally unprecedented. Yet the world did not condemn Israel.

7. Then the Palestinians set up guerrilla units to attack the Israelis. The Israelis retaliated by bombarding and reducing to rubble Arab towns and villages. There were many arrests of Arabs, who were jailed without trial.

8. When the Palestinians sought refuge in Lebanon, Israel invaded Lebanon and massacred thousands of refugees in Sabra and Shatila camps. They forced the expulsion of the PLO from Lebanon.

9. The Palestinians resorted to suicide bombings. They did little damage but their action was described as terrorism. They also fired primitive rockets at Israel, with hardly any effect.

10. The Israelis retaliated by bombing, rocketing Gaza, Jenin and other towns until thousands died, hundreds of thousands wounded.

11. Rebuilding the destroyed homes was blocked by the Israeli blockade of building materials. The blockade also prevented supplies of food and medicine from reaching Gaza and other destroyed towns and villages. The survivors had to shelter in wrecked buildings and tents, exposed to freezing cold in winter. Until now they have not been able to rebuild their homes.

12. The Gazans made primitive rockets and fired them at Israel, as usual with little damage. Israel rocketed and bombarded Gaza invading it and destroying almost all the buildings including schools and hospitals.

13. Then Iraq was attacked by the American and British forces and Saddam Hussein was overthrown and hanged. Without a strong Government, the Sunnis and Shiahs began to fight each other, committing brutalities against each other. Under Saddam they had lived in peace.

14. Then the West urged the Arabs to overthrow the autocratic Governments of many of the Arab states. The result was chaos, anarchy and civil wars.

15. There is an uprising in Syria. The civil war destroyed the whole country. Four million Syrians fled the country. They suffered terribly. The same is now happening in Yemen.

16. The whole Arab world is in a state of turmoil as Arabs fight Arabs. Groups of Syrian rebels were trained, equipped and financed by foreign powers to fight against the Bashar Assad Government. The Government fought back.

17. Some of the rebels decided to use the weapons supplied to them by America to fight for the setting up of an Islamic State. To be noticed and to be feared they indulge in unheard of brutality. They slit the throats of innocent captives with short knives and they shot dead a lot of other innocent captives including teenage boys. They burnt alive some of their captives. And now they have expanded their activities to Europe, shooting innocent people.

18. While mounting military operations against these people are logical and will probably be fairly effective; the acts of terror and the killing of innocent people will not end. The death of leaders or killers will be replaced by new recruits who probably would be more brutal.

19. The only way to end the terror is to tackle the root causes. Among these will be the unstinting support for Israel by Americans and Europeans. This must stop.

20. The setting up of the state of Israel is a fait accompli which even the Arabs have to accept. They put their faith in the Stockholm agreement but Israeli oppression continued. They killed Yitzhak Rabin to ensure that peace will not prevail.

21. Killing stone throwing children, arresting them and jailing them for years without trial is excessive and criminal.

22. Building settlements on Palestinian land and excluding the Palestinian from what is their land, building roads on Palestinian land which the Palestinians are barred from using, erecting road blocks obstructing travel in Palestine by Palestinians, delaying pregnant mothers from going to the hospital until they gave birth to their children at the road blocks; building walls to split up villages, killing thousands of Palestinian refugees in the refugee camps, breaking into hospitals to drag out sick Palestinians for execution, illegally blockading relief food, medicine and building materials from reaching the Palestinians, arresting thousands of Palestinians and detaining them for years without trial, using them as hostages to exchange for captured Israelis, destroying towns, villages and the Gaza Strip with rockets, bombs, heavy guns, tanks and tractors, often destroying houses while the people are still inside and lots more, are still being committed by Israel.

23. All these things are wrong, are against the laws of all countries and of International laws and practices, against the norms of human behaviour, inhuman and immoral. But the Europeans who insist they believe in the rule of law, believe in human rights, in justice and fairplay did not condemn the Israelis, and certainly did not try to stop them. They even seem supportive of all the wrong deeds of the Israelis.

24. The world does not care for the sufferings and humiliation of the Palestinians. It’s as if the Palestinians are not of the human race.

25. The sufferings of the Palestinian, the injustice towards them, the humiliation are felt also by other Arabs, even other Muslims. Angry and frustrated, humiliated, unable to retaliate conventionally, insulted over their beliefs and their faith in Islam, the Arabs and other Muslims had to retaliate, to give back as much as they can the cruelties perpetrated against them.

26. And so their so-called acts of terror escalated. The more they fail the greater is the brutality which they exercise. As no Muslims states are prepared to act, they attempt to set up their own state. Unable to launch a conventional war, they resort to what is described as acts of terror.

27. And the acts of terror will continue and escalate until there are some real effort to redress the sufferings, humiliation and injustice that the Palestinians, the Arabs and Muslims have been subjected to by the Israelis backed by the European and the Americans.

28. I have no sympathy for IS and abhor the kind of terror they indulge in. What they do is completely against the teachings of Islam and the accepted norms of human behaviour.

29. Terrorism is a bane on the life of ordinary people. They never know when they will be victims of terror. We applaud the idea of stopping acts of terror. But mere military action will not defeat terrorists. Only the removal of the causes of terrorism will do that.

30. The causes are known and have been listed above. Israeli intransigence must be stopped and the settlements and seizure of Palestinian land be reversed. When these things are done then only will there be less frustrations and anger among Muslims and less resort to acts of terrorism. Failure to admit the causes will only lead to the continuance and escalation of acts of terror.

SERANGAN DI PARIS

1. Setiap orang, sudah semestinya setiap umat Islam, pasti mengutuk serangan pengecut oleh orang Islam di Paris yang mengakibatkan lebih daripada 100 orang yang tidak bersalah terbunuh. Ia bukanlah hanya satu insiden tetapi melibatkan beberapa siri serangan yang diselaraskan di beberapa tempat di Paris. Ini semestinya memberikan imej yang buruk terhadap Islam dan umat Islam. Secara praktiknya, ia mengiakan tuduhan bahawa Islam ini berkait dengan keganasan.

2. Jelaslah, sesuatu perlu dilakukan untuk menghentikan serangan seumpamanya. Kerajaan Perancis menyeru pembentukan satu gabungan negara-negara menentang ISIS dan keganasan amnya. Seluruh dunia seakan bersedia untuk bergabung menentang ISIS khususnya.

3. Kalau kita bersedia mempelajari sejarah, kita tidak akan gagal untuk memperhati bahawa tindakan keganasan seperti ini sudah bertambah demi tahun. Mereka semakin dahsyat dan kejam setiap masa.

4. Sesiapa yang mengambil berat akan dapati bahawa tindakan-tindakan keganasan ini kebanyakannya terbatas di negara-negara Arab di Timur Tengah. Mereka bermula dengan terciptanya negara Israel di tanah Palestin. Rakyat Arab Palestin dibunuh beramai-ramai dan disingkirkan daripada negara mereka oleh kumpulan-kumpulan pengganas Irgun dan Haganah dari Israel. Mereka kehilangan tanah, rumah dan kebun buah-buahan mereka. Mereka terpaksa tinggal di kem pelarian yang buruk di negara-negara lain di benua tersebut. Selama lebih 60 tahun mereka menderita dengan serba kekurangan golongan yang disingkir. Pada mulanya, sebilangan negara-negara Arab cuba untuk merampas semula Palestin menerusi peperangan-peperangan konvensional. Dari tahun 1948 hingga 1982, mereka menyerang Israel. Namun, setiap kalinya mereka tewas kerana Israel dibekalkan dengan senjata dan wang serta bala tentera oleh Amerika dan negara-negara Eropah.

5. Negara-negara Arab menerima hakikat bahwa mereka tidak akan memenangi peperangan menentang Israel. Jadi, mereka berhenti mencuba selepas tahun 1982.

6. Pada tahun 1987, Yasser Arafat menubuhkan kumpulan PLO Al Fatah dan memulakan gerakan intifada yang pertama. Pada mulanya, ia melibatkan kanak-kanak warga Palestin membaling batu ke arah kereta kebal milik Israel. Tentera Israel membalas dengan menembak kanak-kanak dengan peluru disaluti getah dan peluru hidup yang membunuh ramai kanak-kanak, memberkas dan memenjarakan kebanyakan daripada mereka. Jauh sekali daripada menghentikan tentera Israel, mereka sebenarnya meluaskan kawasan dengan membina penempatan di atas tanah rakyat Palestin. Pembinaan penempatan di atas tanah milik orang lain tidak pernah berlaku sebelum ini. Namun, dunia tidak pernah mencemuh Israel.

7. Selepas itu, rakyat Palestin menubuhkan unit-unit gerila untuk menyerang Israel. Israel membalas dengan mengebom dan menjadikan bandar-bandar dan kampong-kampong orang Arab runtuhan batu. Ramai orang Arab ditahan dan dipenjarakan tanpa pembicaraan.

8. Apabila rakyat Palestin mencari pelindungan di Lebanon, Israel menyerbu Lebanon dan membunuh secara beramai-ramai ribuan pelarian di kem-kem Sabra and Shatila. Mereka memaksa penyingkiran PLO Dari Lebanon.

9. Rakyat Palestin beralih kepada pengeboman tekad mati. Tindakan ini menyebabkan kerosakan kecil tetapi tindakan mereka dianggap sebagai keganasan. Mereka juga melancarkan roket-roket kuno ke arah Israel yang tidak memberikan sebarang kesan yang ketara.

10. Israel membalas dengan mengebom, melancarkan roket ke arah Gaza, Jenin dan bandar-bandar lain hingga menyebabkan ribuan mati, ratusan ribuan cedera.

11. Membina semula rumah-rumah yang telah musnah dihalang oleh Israel dengan sekatan bahan-bahan pembinaan. Sekatan itu menghalang bekalan makanan dan ubatan sampai ke Gaza dan bandar-bandar serta kampong-kampong lain yang termusnah. Mangsa-mangsa yang terselamat terpaksa berteduh di bangunan-bangunan dan khemah-khemah yang ranap, mendedahkan mereka kepada kesejukan di musim sejuk. Sehingga kini, mereka tidak berupaya untuk membina semula rumah mereka.

12. Rakyat Gaza membina roket-roket kuno dan melancarkannya ke arah Israel, seperti biasa dengan kesan kerosakan yang kecil. Israel melancarkan roket dan membedil Gaza menaklukinya dan memusnahkan hampir keseluruhan bangunan-bangunan termasuk sekolah-sekolah dan hospital-hospital.

13. Selepas itu, Iraq diserang kuasa Amerika dan British dan Saddam Hussein telah digulingkan dan digantung. Tanpa sebuah kerajaan yang kuat, Sunni dan Shiah mula bergaduh sesama sendiri, melakukan keganasan sesama sendiri. Di bawah pemerintahan Saddam, mereka hidup dengan aman.

14. Kemudian, Barat menggesa orang Arab menggulingkan kerajaan autokratik banyak daripada negeri-negeri Arab. Hasilnya, ialah keadaan yang huru-hara, anarki dan perang-perang saudara.

15. Berlakunya pemberontakan di Syria. Perang saudara itu memusnahkan seluruh negara itu. Empat juta rakyat Syria lari meninggalkan negara itu. Mereka amat terseksa. Perkara yang sama berlaku di Yemen.

16. Seluruh dunia Arab berada dalam keadaan kacau-bilau kerana Arab menentang Arab. Kumpulan-kumpulan pemberontak Syria dilatih, dibekalkan senjata dan ditaja oleh kuasa luar untuk menentang Kerajaan Bashar Assad. Kerajaan tersebut melawan balik.

17. Sebilangan pemberontak tersebut memutuskan untuk menggunakan senjata-senjata yang dibekalkan oleh Amerika untuk menjuangkan penubuhan sebuah Islamic State. Agar mendapat perhatian dan ditakuti, mereka terjerumus dalam keganasan yang luar biasa. Mereka menyelar leher tebusan yang tidak bersalah menggunakan pisau pendek dan menembak mati ramai tebusan yang tidak bersalah termasuk remaja lelaki. Mereka membakar hidup-hidup beberapa tebusan mereka. Dan sekarang mereka telah meluaskan aktiviti-aktiviti mereka ke Eropah, menembak orang-orang yang tidak bersalah.

18. Sementera sokongan kepada operasi-operasi ketenteraan menentang golongan ini adalah logik dan berkemungkinan agak efektif; tindakan keganasan dan pembunuhan orang-orang yang tidak bersalah tidak akan berakhir. Kematian pemimpin-pemimpin atau pembunuh-pembunuh akan digantikan dengan orang baru yang mungkin lebih kejam.

19. Satu-satunya cara untuk menghentikan keganasan ini adalah berdepan dengan punca-punca masalah. Antaranya ialah sokongan tidak terhingga untuk Israel oleh pihak Amerika dan British. Ini perlu dihentikan.

20. Penubuhan negara Israel adalah fakta yang sudah terjadi (fait aaccompli) yang orang-orang Arab harus terima. Mereka meletakkan kepercayaan kepada Perjanjian Stockholm tetapi penindasan Israel diteruskan. Mereka membunuh Yitzhak Rabin untuk memastikan keamanan tidak akan wujud.

21. Membunuh kanak-kanak yang membaling batu, memberkas mereka dan memenjarakan mereka bertahun-tahun tanpa perbicaraan adalah bertelaluan dan zalim.

22. Membina penempatan di atas tanah rakyat Palestin dan mengecualikan rakyat Palestin daripada tanah milik mereka, membina jalan-jalan di atas tanah milik Palestin di mana rakyat Palestin dihalang untuk menggunakannya, membina sekatan jalan raya, menghalang perjalanan di dalam Palestin oleh rakyat Palestin, melengahkan wanita-wanita mengandung pergi ke hospital sehingga mereka melahirkan anak di sekatan jalan raya, membina dinding-dinding untuk memisahkan perkampungan, membunuh ribuan pelarian Palestin di kem-kem pelarian, memecah masuk ke hospital-hospital untuk menarik keluar rakyat Palestin yang sakit untuk dibunuh, menyekat tanpa sah bekalan makanan, ubatan dan bahan-bahan pembinaan daripada sampai ke Palestin, menangkap ribuan rakyat Palestin dan menahan mereka bertahun-tahun tanpa perbicaraan, menggunakan mereka sebagai tebusan untuk pertukaran bagi rakyat Israel yang ditangkap, memusnahkan bandar-bandar, kampung-kampung dan Semenanjung Gaza dengan roket, bom, senjata berat, kereta kebal dan traktor, selalunya ketika orang masih berada di dalamnya dan banyak lagi, masih dilakukan oleh Israel.

23. Semua ini salah, bercanggah dengan undang-undang semua negara serta undang-undang dan tuntutan antarabangsa, bercanggah dengan norma-norma perilaku manusia, tidak berperikemanusiaan dan tidak bermoral. Tetapi, orang-orang Eropah yang menegaskan mereka mempercayai kedaulatan undang-undang, mempercayai hak-hak manusia, keadilan dan saksama, tidak mengutuk Israel, dan sudah pastinya tidak pernah cuba untuk menghalangkan mereka. Mereka seolah-olah menyokong segala kesalahan yang dilakukan Israel.

24. Dunia tidak peduli dengan segala kesengsaraan dan penghinaan rakyat Palestin. Ianya seperti rakyat Palestin bukanlah bangsa manusia.

25. Kesengsaraan rakyat Palestin, ketidakadilan terhadap mereka, penghinaannya juga dirasai oleh orang-orang Arab yang lain, juga umat Islam yang lain. Marah dan hampa, terhina, tidak berupaya untuk membalas secara konvensional, dihina atas kepercayaan mereka dan keyakinan mereka terhadap Islam, orang-orang Arab dan Islam yang lain terpaksa bertindak balas, untuk membalas balik sebanyak mana kekejaman yang telah dilakukan terhadap mereka.

26. Dan dengan itu, tindakan-tindakan kekejaman kononnya semakin bertambah. Semakin mereka gagal, semakin hebat kekejaman yang mereka lakukan. Dengan sebab ketiadaan negara-negara Islam yang sedia untuk bertindak, mereka bertindak menubuhkan negara mereka sendiri. Tidak berupaya untuk melancarkan peperangan biasa, mereka bertindak seperti yang digambarkan sebagai tindakan keganasan.

27. Dan tindakan-tindakan keganasan akan diteruskan dan semakin memuncak sehingga adanya usaha-usaha jitu untuk membenteras kesengsaraan, penghinaan dan ketidakadilan yang dialami oleh rakyat Palestin, orang-orang Arab dan Islam oleh Israel, disokong oleh orang-orang Eropah dan Amerika.

28. Saya tidak ada simpati kepada IS dan amat benci jenis keganasan yang mereka ceburi. Apa yang mereka lakukan adalah bertentangan terus dengan ajaran Islam dan perilaku manusia yang diterima.

29. Keganasan adalah punca penderitaan kehidupan rakyat biasa. Mereka tidak tahu bila masanya mereka akan jadi mangsa. Kita mengalu-alukan idea memberhentikan tindakan keganasan. Tetapi tindakan ketenteraan sahaja tidak akan menewaskan pengganas-pengganas. Hanya penghapusan punca-punca berlakunya keganasan dapat membuat demikian.

30. Punca-puncanya semua diketahui dan di senaraikan di atas. Keras kepala Israel mesti dihentikan dan penempatan dan perampasan tanah Palestin mesti dipulangkan. Apabila perkara-perkara ini selesai dilakukan maka baru sahajalah kekecewaan dan kemarahan di kalangan umat Islam akan berkekurangan dan berkuranglah tindakan keganasan. Kegagalan untuk mengakui punca sebab hanya akan membawa kepada penurusan dan peningkatan tindakan keganasan.

HUDUD

1. Saya terkejut mendengar bahawa UMNO Kelantan menyokong hudud PAS. Saya harap mereka faham apa yang dilakukan oleh mereka.

2. Hudud PAS bukan hudud Islam sebab ia sangat tidak adil, sedangkan Al-Quran menuntut keadilan apabila menghukum.

3. Hukum potong tangan, rejam sampai mati dan penggal leher ke atas orang Islam tetapi mengenakan hukum yang amat ringan kepada orang bukan Islam dalam masyarakat yang sama amatlah tidak adil. Justeru itu hudud PAS bukan hukum hudud Islam.

4. Yang kedua ialah niat PAS dan juga UMNO Kelantan apabila memperkenalkan hudud PAS adalah untuk kepentingan politik. Ini menjadikan hukum hudud PAS dan sokongannya oleh UMNO tidak Islam.

5. Bahawa niat PAS adalah untuk politik adalah jelas daripada “Amanat Perdana Pemangku Presiden YAB Tuan Guru Dato Haji Abdul Hadi Awang – Pilihanraya Ke-11 Formula Kemenangan pada 18 Januari 2003, 15 Zulkaedah 1423 Hijrah”.

6. Amanat ini berbunyi demikian, “yang pentingnya perlu ada kerjasama untuk menjatuh atau mengurangkan penguasaan atau hegemoni BN di Parlimen dan kali ini DAP perlu diyakinkan bahawa mudharat kerjasama ini dapat dikurangkan sebab konsep kerjasama ini berbeza dalam strategi 2 Arca berbanding BA-1999”

7. Ini disusuli dengan “Justeru kerana isu Negara Islam dan pelaksanaan Hudud dan Syariah menjadi punca perpecahan BA dahulu, maka PAS perlu membuat satu pengorbanan dan itihad-besar untuk tidak memasukkan persoalan Negara Islam dan pelaksanaan Hudud di peringkat Federal. Peruntukan mengenai Islam adalah mencukupi sekadar apa yang telah termaktub dalam

Perlembagaan Persekutuan dan seperti yang diamalkan kini di peringkat Federal.

8. Seandainya menang dalam pilihanraya akan datang, BA atau Pembangkang akan menubuhkan sebuah Kerajaan Demokratik dan Adil di peringkat Federal atau Pusat, yang mendokongi Perlembagaan Persekutuan yang sedia ada.”

9. Nawaitu orang Islam semasa membuat ibadat amat penting. Jika niat semasa solat, tawaf dan saii ialah untuk senaman, ia tidak lagi menjadi ibadat. Kerana hudud PAS mempunyai niat menang pilihanraya, maka ia tidak lagi Islam.

10. Atas dua alasan ini, undang-undang yang di lulus oleh dewan undangan negeri Kelantan tidak boleh diterima sebagai hukum hudud Islam. Sebaliknya jika dikenakan ke atas orang bukan Islam ia akan ditentang dan huru hara akan berlaku. Allah s.w.t. tidak suka orang yang mencetuskan huru hara dan melakukan kerosakan. (Surah Al-Baqarah Ayat 27, 123)

11. Di Malaysia, hukum syarak yang sedia ada terhad kepada kepincangan dalam keluarga Islam. Ia tidak menganiaya orang Islam atau orang bukan Islam. Untuk jenayah lain, undang-undang Malaysia tidak membezakan antara agama demi mencapai keadilan bagi semua. Ketegasan Islam berkenaan dengan keadilan dijunjung.

12. Dato Haji Hadi berkata saya tidak tahu syariat Islam. Oleh itu saya tidak layak bercakap berkenaan hukum hudud. Saya juga boleh kata Haji Hadi tidak tahu berkenaan pentadbiran dan tidak layak mentadbir negeri. Sebagai seorang yang terlatih dalam bidang perubatan saya boleh kenal pasti penyakit, termasuk penyakit pentadbiran dan mengubatinya. Saya tidaklah begitu jahil dalam bidang agama. Hasil semasa pentadbiran oleh saya boleh dikaji.

13. Ingatlah orang-orang yang fasih bahasa Arab dan dipimpin oleh pemimpin yang terpelajar dalam bidang agama; orang-orang inilah yang berperang dan membunuh orang yang seagama dengan mereka. Apakah mereka tidak tahu akan larangan membunuh dalam Islam. Mereka mencipta jenayah yang tidak pun ada dalam Islam dan menjatuh hukum yang ditentukan oleh mereka tanpa menitikberat soal keadilan yang dituntut oleh Islam.

14. Ada yang menjatuhkan hukum bunuh kerana tidak simpan janggut, kerana melihat pertandingan bola sepak, kerana tidak memakai hijab sepenuhnya. Terdapat kes seorang lelaki menembak mati seorang wanita kerana dituduh berzina. Cara perbicaraan dan lelaki yang melakukan zina tidak ditunjuk. Hanya perempuan itu ditembak mati. Islamkah perbuatan ini. Adilkah perbuatan ini.

15. Ada yang akan berkata jika ini menjadikan imej Islam buruk dan tidak adil, tidak mengapa kerana kita melakukan hukum Allah. Tetapi benarkah hukum yang dicipta tanpa mengambilkira keadilan Islam serta dengan niat politik adalah hukum Allah.

16. Memikir bahawa imej Islam di kalangan orang bukan Islam, bahkan orang Islam sendiri tidak penting adalah salah. Islam berkembang meluas dahulu kerana imej tamadun yang didiri oleh orang Islam begitu cemerlang sehingga memikat hati orang bukan Islam. Orang Melayu menerima Islam kerana kejayaan dan kehandalan peniaga Islam dari Negara Arab dan India.

17. Melakukan sesuatu kerana kepentingan lain yang memburukkan imej Islam adalah sesuatu yang tidak menepati ajaran Islam dan menjauhkan orang bukan Islam dari agama suci Islam. Ia adalah perbuatan anti-dakwah.

18. Ingatlah segala yang buruk datang dari kita dan segala yang baik datang dari Allah s.w.t.

MENGEMBALIKAN KHALIFAH

1. Umat Islam sekarang sudah sampai ke peringkat cemas dan bahaya. Bahayanya bukan hanya kepada diri mereka tetapi kepada agama mereka. Ini adalah oleh kerana agama Islam sudah di hijack oleh pihak tertentu yang mengganti ajaran Islam sebenar dengan ajaran yang bertentangan dengan Islam. Apabila ajaran ini dikembangkan oleh pemimpin-pemimpin yang berkepentingan, ulama dan umarak enggan membantah, bahkan ada yang agak tertarik dengan ajaran-ajaran ini. Dengan sikap ini agama Islam akan menjadi lain daripada Islam yang diwahyukan kepada Nabi oleh Allah s.w.t.

2. Demikian, walaupun Al Quran dengan jelasnya melarang orang Islam membunuh, terutamanya membunuh orang yang seagama dengan mereka, tetapi kita lihat ramai orang Islam yang percaya dan sanggup secara sukarela menyertai gerakan membunuh sesama Islam sebagai jihad. Dan ramailah orang Islam yang telah dibunuh oleh orang Islam berbanding dengan yang dibunuh oleh Yahudi. Sesungguhnya mereka mengkhianati Islam dan memihak kepada Zionis.

3. Dari Malaysia juga sudah ada sukarelawan yang pergi ke Syria kerana ingin berperang, iaitu membunuh orang Islam lain. Mereka menghalalkan perbuatan mereka dengan mendakwa bahawa yang hendak dibunuh ialah orang Islam yang menganuti fahaman Syiah. Mereka berpendapat puak Syiah tidak Islam.

4. Kita tahu dalam acara pengislaman, yang diwajibkan ialah lafaz dua kalimah syahadah, iaitu “La illaha illallah Muhammadurasullallah”. Hanya dengan lafaz ini mencukupi untuk seseorang menjadi orang Islam.

5. Mereka yang dianggap bukan Islam ini bukan sahaja mengucap dua kalimah syahadah, tetapi mereka menerima dan membaca Al Quran yang sama, bersolat dengan menyebut nama Allah dan Rasulnya, menolak yang haram serta menerima yang halal, dan tidak menyekutu Allah atau menyembah berhala. Kafirkah mereka?

6. Islam mengutamakan keadilan. Untuk melaku adil pihak yang dituduh kafir perlu diberi peluang, jika tidak dibicara dengan tertib, sekurang-kurangnya untuk membela diri, untuk menentukan amalan dan kepercayaan mereka bertentangan dengan Islam atau tidak.

7. Tetapi tanpa diperiksa dan ditentukan kafir atau tidak mereka yang ditawan dibunuh dengan kejam.

8. Orang Syiah juga bersalah apabila membunuh orang Sunni tanpa diadili.

9. Hari ini ramai juga orang Islam Malaysia yang telah pergi ke Syria yang percaya mereka berjihad. Berjihadkah mereka apabila mereka melakukan kerja Yahudi dan Amerika?

10. Sekarang terdapat sekumpulan orang Sunni yang sedang berperang menawan wilayah Iraq dan Syria kononnya untuk mendiri negara Islam pimpinan Khalifah. Mereka ini melakukan tindakan ganas dengan menembak mati askar tawanan mereka dan juga untuk pancung leher seorang tawanan mereka rakyat Amerika. Kononnya mereka berjihad untuk Islam, untuk mendiri sebuah negara Islam yang diketuai oleh Khalifah. Sebenarnya apa yang dilakukan oleh mereka ialah melemahkan orang Islam supaya lebih mudah dikuasai oleh Yahudi dan Amerika.

11. Ulama dan umarak Islam di negara ini tidak dengan tegas menyatakan pendirian mereka, samada percaya tindakan ganas yang dilakukan oleh kumpulan ini adalah sebahagian dari ajaran Islam atau tidak. Ada yang dipercayai merestukan sukarelawan Malaysia pergi membunuh orang Islam yang dikatakan tidak Islam. Ada yang percaya mereka ini berjihad bila membunuh orang yang tidak sama tafsiran dan kepercayaan Islam dengan mereka walaupun orang ini menyembah Tuhan yang sama dan mengucap akan Allah yang satu dan Muhammad adalah RasulNya. Tidak ada usaha mengkaji dan membahas tuduhan kafir orang ini walaupun tuduhan ini amat berat. Tidak ada fatwa yang dibuat oleh ulama yang tidak beragenda atau berkepentingan, yang pegang hanya kepada Al Quran dan hadis yang sahih.

12. Jika fahaman seperti ini merebak di negara ini maka perpecahan di kalangan orang Islam akan jadi lebih luas daripada sekarang. Ia mungkin sampai tahap bermusuh dan bertindak ganas. Janganlah kita fikir ini tidak akan berlaku di negara bertuah ini. Ingatlah disatu masa dahulu ada diantara kita mengkafir sesama kita dan berlatih untuk mengguna senjata yang dicuri. Alhamdullilah mereka gagal. Jika kumpulan mereka ini lebih besar dan menunjuk sedikit kejayaan, akan ada yang lain yang akan menyertai puak ini.

13. Seruan berjihad mempunyai daya penarik yang amat kuat. Dalam keadaan ramai orang Islam yang cetek pengetahuan Islam, seruan ini mudah diterima. Mereka ini mudah percaya mereka mati syahid bila dibunuh.

14. Sebenarnya orang Islam yang berperang dengan orang Islam dan membunuh mereka, perbuatan mereka ini bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam bahawa orang Islam itu bersaudara. Bukankah Allah s.w.t telah berfirman dalam Al Quran bahawa jika orang Islam bermusuh dengan orang Islam, pihak lain hendaklah merelaikan mereka.

15. Samada Sunni atau Syiah, dalam pandangan orang Yahudi dan Eropah mereka semua Islam dan musuh mereka. Mereka gemar melihat kerja mereka membunuh orang Islam dipermudahkan oleh orang Islam sendiri.

16. Akan ke syurgakah orang yang ghairah membuat kerja Yahudi. Tanyalah ulama dan umarak di negara ini. Berilah kata putus kerana dalam kekecewaan dan kemarahan anak muda Islam kerana negara-negara Islam tidak bertindak menyelamatkan Islam, amat mudah mereka menyahut seruan yang boleh membawa mereka ke neraka dan tidak ke syurga.

17. Selamatkanlah agama suci Islam daripada mereka yang cuba mengubah ajarannya daripada yang mulia kepada yang hina.

NEGARA ISLAM (I.S.)

1. Di Iraq satu gerakan Sunni sedang melanggar dan menawan sebahagian yang tidak kecil dari negara itu. Kita membaca berita bahawa pasukan ini berjaya merampas wilayah ini dengan menewas tentera Iraq.

2. Pasukan IS ini adalah begitu ganas sehingga sanggup menembak mati askar Iraq yang beragama Islam yang ditawan. Kita dapat lihat dalam media alternatif bagaimana tawanan mereka dipaksa duduk sederet dan satu demi satu ditembak dari belakang dan jatuh tersungkur.

3. Video yang dibuat oleh IS sendiri juga menunjuk seorang pemberita Amerika dipancung oleh seorang askar IS yang bertopeng yang dikatakan bercakap Inggeris loghat Timur London. Tuduhan dibuat yang pembunuh ini terdiri dari orang Islam rakyat Britain.

4. Sekarang kita dapat lapuran akhbar bahawa ramai rakyat Malaysia yang sudah ke Syria untuk menyokong pemberontak bagi menjatuhkan Bashar Asaad, Presiden Syria yang menganuti fahaman Islam Syiah (Alawait).

5. Dari Filipina, Indonesia bahkan dari Singapura juga ada orang Islam yang menyertai pemberontak di Syria dan ada yang mungkin terlibat dengan askar Sunni IS.

6. Mengikut laporan TV jumlah tentera IS sudah meningkat lebih dari 30,000. Tiap hari ramai dari pemuda Islam di Eropah dan negara-negara Asia yang meninggalkan negara mereka untuk menyertai IS.

7. Semua ini berlaku di Timur Tengah, jauh dari negara kita. Apakah kita selamat?

8. Tak lama dahulu sepasukan pengganas Filipina telah menceroboh Sabah dan berperang dengan askar Malaysia. Kita berjaya mematahkan serangan mereka. Tetapi kemudian berlaku penculikan dan peras ugut beberapa kali. Hingga kini masih ada yang tidak dapat ditebus.

9. Apakah tidak mungkin sekumpulan dari pemberontak negara jiran membuat serangan untuk mendiri “negara Islam” mereka di Malaysia? Seruan untuk mendiri “negara Islam” amat menarik bagi pemuda Islam di mana-mana sahaja kerana mereka keciwa tidak ada Kerajaan atau negara Islam yang sanggup menyelamat Islam, orang Islam dan negara Islam.

10. Ingatlah anggota IS yang bermazhab Sunni bukan sahaja membunuh tawanan Syiah, tetapi juga Sunni yang dianggap oleh mereka kurang Islam atau tidak Islam kerana tidak mengikuti fahaman mereka.

11. Di Malaysia sudah pun ada orang yang mendakwa kononnya sesetengah orang Islam di negara ini tidak cukup Islam bahkan kafir. Ramai juga dari kumpulan ini sudah ke Syria dan mungkin Iraq untuk berjuang bagi mendiri “negara Islam” dengan membunuh orang Islam lain. Jika terlintas dalam fikiran mereka untuk menjadikan Malaysia sebahagian dari “Islamic State”, apakah tidak mungkin mereka menyertai serangan dari luar yang melaungkan jihad untuk mendiri “negara Islam” di Malaysia.

12. Ingatlah serangan keatas Sabah sudah pun berlaku. Di Semenanjung ada gerakan Al Maunah.

13. Tidaklah begitu sukar bagi mereka bertindak ganas lagi jika ada seruan untuk mendiri negara Islam acuan mereka di negara ini.

14. Kerajaan sehingga kini tidak memandang serius terhadap serangan di Kota Belud. Penculikan masih berlaku. Sekarang pula ada tuntutan untuk pemisahan Sabah. Jika seruan pemisahan ini disamakan dengan perjuangan untuk mendiri Islamic State ramai juga anak muda yang akan terpengaruh.

15. Gerakan untuk mendiri negara Islam dan membaiah kepada seorang yang mendakwa dirinya sebagai khalifah pun sudah berlaku.

16. Jika Ashaari, Ayah Pin dan Tuhan Harun berjaya mendapat sokongan sesiapa yang menyeru untuk mendiri negara Islam tentu lebih mudah mendapat pengikut.

17. Tetapi Kerajaan Malaysia ternampak masih belum sedar. Tidak ada tindakan secara serius yang dibuat. ISA sudah tidak ada.

18. Ingatlah! Tidak siapa menjangka pengganas akan serang Sabah. Tetapi serangan ini sudah pun berlaku.

THE ISLAMIC STATE

1. Suddenly, out of the blue almost there appeared in the Middle East a powerful force seemingly moved by a desire to set up an Islamic state, a Caliphate no less.

2. And this force has been amazingly successful. They have literally conquered swathes of Iraq and have set up a Government. They are set to advance further and the Iraqi forces have not really been able to stop them.

3. Where did they come from? Just like the Taliban they were created by the United States of America.

4. The Americans fear the rise of the Shiites, the Islamic sect that is most against the West.

5. After more than 10 years of the occupation of Iraq the Americans realised they could not stay there any longer. When they left they persuaded the majority Iraqi Shiites to form a bipartisan Government with the minority Sunni.

6. But the Shiites decided to deprive the Sunni of a role in the Government. The Sunni Vice-President was accused of plotting against the Government and he had to escape to Turkey to avoid arrest and possible execution or assassination by the Iraqi Government. And so Iraq which was once ruled by Saddam Hussein, a Sunni became a Shiite State.

7. Then came the uprisings in Syria to overthrow Bashar Assad, a Shiite. America had always wanted to replace Bashar’s Shiite Government with a Sunni Government. With Iraq and Iran under Shiite rule, a Shiite Government in Syria would tilt the balance in the Middle East in favour of the Shiite – the most violent enemy of the American.

8. And so when the attempt was made to overthrow Bashar’s Government, the Americans saw an opportunity to replace Bashar with a Sunni Government.

9. To ensure this would be the result of the civil war in Syria, America provided military aid and money to the Sunni rebels in Syria to ensure their overthrow of Bashar.

10. Many of the Sunni fighters were fanatically against the Shiite. They readily accept United States aid and then decided to cross from Syria into Iraq to overthrow the Shiite Government there. They envision a new Sunni Caliphate to rule over Sham, the territory which was divided by the British and the French into Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine.

11. If the Sunnis succeed in their Islamic state it would endanger Israel and American interest in the region. Suddenly the United States find that overthrowing Bashar is not such a good idea.

12. Instead the United States should ally with Syria to fight against the jihadists from Europe now flocking to join the Sunni Islamic State forces to overthrow the Governments of Iraq and Syria. Should a fanatical Islamic state in Sham materialise, the Americans may find a more implacable enemy.

13. The United States seems unable to learn from the failures of their past strategies. They created the Taliban to fight Russia in Afghanistan. That turned awry.

14. They went to war against Afghanistan and Iraq, believing with shock and awe they would finish victorious in three months. After ten years of costly wars in these countries they have succeeded only in putting in place extremist Muslim Governments. They are now unable to extricate themselves from these two countries.

15. They tried to promote regime change in Arab countries and only succeeded in destabilizing these countries. Democracy ends with anti-Americans extreme Islamic Governments being elected. The United States now finds itself having to support undemocratic overthrows of democratically elected Governments.

16. And now the jihadists of the Islamic Caliphate. Without United States involvement in Middle Eastern affairs the American journalist would not have been beheaded.

17. The American people are hopelessly ignorant of the world outside America. They believe whatever their Governments is doing is good for America. They will never learn simply because their print and electronic media are not under their control.

18. The United States belief that change from authoritarian rule to democracy would result in friendlier Governments is naive. Decades of United States support for Israel and anti-Islamic policies have made anti-American Islamic parties popular. Once elections are held following demoralization, the Islamists would win. And anti-Americanism will be even more violent.

19. America has much to learn about foreign relations.
